Nürtingen, 11.01.2021: eta plus electronic GmbH is taking further steps towards electromobility and reinforcing its production network in Nürtingen. In the future, eta plus electronic GmbH will produce innovative solutions in the field of DC charging technology for electric vehicles as well as battery and power management. Ambibox GmbH from Mainz has been developing these highly innovative power electronics for the past six years.

 

Thanks to the collaboration between these two companies, customers will be able to access DC charging technology in the form of 11 kW and 22 kW wallboxes. Apart from faster charging of electric vehicles, these enable the integration of a photovoltaic unit as a power generator as well as the recovery of energy in Li-Ion battery systems or other household energy consumers. “With eta plus, we have found a strong partner who actively assists us in all areas to harness our joint market opportunities”, says Manfred Przybilla, Managing Director of Ambibox GmbH.

 

Both Ambibox GmbH and eta plus electronic GmbH have a great deal of expertise when it comes to applying the latest hardware technology and developing the necessary software. “Thanks to this partnership, we are well-positioned to react quickly and effectively to highly volatile market developments while at the same time sustainably improving our cost structure”, says Dirk Heers, Managing Director of eta plus electronic GmbH.

 

Nürtingen, May 12, 2020: Dirk Heers, a graduate industrial engineer, has taken over the management of the company with effect from May 1, 2020. He thus replaces Uwe Uhlemann, who had taken over the post on a temporary basis since April 2019.

 

In his career to date, Dirk Heers has already held senior positions in the various functional areas of sales, production and development, and has held management responsibility as managing director or member of the management board.

 

Dr. Peter Schwarz-Kiene left the company by mutual agreement on 16 April 2019. The duties of Managing Director will be temporarily assumed by Sales Director Dr. Markus Roth, eta plus, and Uwe Uhlemann, Head of Operations at IST Metz.

 

In 2000, Dr. Peter Schwarz-Kiene changed over from KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) to eta plus and initially worked as Technical Director. Since 2009, he has also been managing director of the company.

 

Different opinions about the future strategic direction of the company led to the joint decision of IST Metz and eta plus to go their separate ways in the future. “On behalf of the management, the foundation board and the employees, I would like to thank Dr. Peter Schwarz-Kiene for his many years of successful service to eta plus and for the great contributions he made to the company. I wish him all the best for his professional and private future,” said Christian-Marius Metz, CEO of the parent company IST Metz.

eta plus electronic gmbh has received GL certificate for its new Electronic Lamp Controller (ELC®) ELC® X6B and   ELC® X8B. The units can operate lamps up to 6kW (ELC® X6B), respectively 8kW  (ELC® X8B) and are specially adopted for the usage onboard of ships. They can be operated in ambient temperatures up to 55°C and have successfully passed  all environmental and EMC tests necessary to operate them in every marine applications like BWTS, fish farming  or fresh water treatment, etc. that means in all applications where you expect harshest environments. The ELC® X_B series is based on the successful ELC® X series where eta plus has introduced highest available IP 54 protection level. This ensures perfect protection of all electronics against all kinds of environmental pollution. The key to this protection level  is the unique cooling concept with integrated air conditioning. This ELC® concept allows highest packaging density, one of the major critical parameter especially for BWTS retrofits and new builds. Other important features of the X Series are fieldbus control (modbus and PROFIBUS), extensive dimming range, wide input voltage range 360 V to 528 V, lowest harmonic distortion THDi, insulated lamp output, integrated earth fault detection, and so on.
