LED UV technology

TECHNOLOGY OF THE FUTURE WITH eta plus

It has long established itself as state-of-the-art-technology in the visible range, and in applications requiring long-wave ultraviolet light (UVA, 315 – 380 nm), its advantages are slowly coming to the fore: The LED. eta plus is part of this evolution and develops electronic components for LEDs as well as complete lamps and modules for a whole range of LED components.

Electronic drivers supply and control individual modules and are powered by our electronic ballasts. This technology allows replacing existing lamp systems with LED-based systems (so-called retrofits) without the need to replace the supply electronics.

While short-wave ultraviolet light (UVC 200 – 280 nm) is only effective for water sterilisation, photopolymerisation of inks and varnishes also sometimes confines itself to UVA wavelengths. For the spectral range above 365 nm, competitively priced LED chips are now available and are one of the reasons the UV LED market is enjoying particularly strong growth in these segments.

Photochemical processes in the chemical industry are another application area for LED-based UV systems. Here, LEDs offer the advantage of greater efficiency within a narrow wavelength range.
